For children in Year 3 and above.
Taught by experienced teacher and guitarist, Steve Gower, this weekly guitar club covers guitar technique, ensemble playing, musical theory and general musicianship skills.
We run weekly group sessions for a range of abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players. The groups meet during term-time on Mondays and Wednesdays after school (various times) at Abingdon Music Centre (at Larkmead School). Acoustic and electric players welcome.
New and experienced school-age guitarists (in Year 3 and above) are very welcome. Please contact the Abingdon Music Centre office for further information or to book a FREE taster session.
Group performances (optional) throughout the year usually include:
I started at AMC with baby music when I was 6 months old, and have been supported by the centre ever since. Having benefitted from lessons in recorder, drums and now guitar, I have had the opportunity to learn from the experiences of many fantastic, dedicated teachers. There really is something for everyone, and I would highly recommend AMC to anyone wanting to develop their confidence in music, no matter what stage!
