The adult guitar groups, for beginners, intermediate and advanced players, are led by Steve Gower, an experienced teacher and guitarist.

We run weekly group sessions for a range of abilities, from complete beginners to experienced players. The groups meet during term-time on Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings (various times) at Abingdon Music Centre (at Larkmead School). Acoustic and electric players welcome.

I joined Beginners’ Guitar classes on Wednesday mornings a few terms ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Steve is really good at getting things across and is very helpful. The fellow mature students are very friendly and we all get on well. Just need to keep up with the practice!

(Dianne, Adult Guitar, Wednesday class)

These classes have been a pleasure to attend and very instructive. Steve goes to considerable lengths to ensure a varied and interesting approach to our learning. I can honestly say that I have never  attended a lesson without learning something and those insights (lightbulb moments?) are very useful and impossible to obtain from a book. I’ve missed the lessons very much during the Coronavirus crisis and fervently hope they resume fairly soon.
