Charlotte Storrs (nee Charlotte Roozen) was born in the Netherlands and started her violin studies in The Hague. She studied languages at Utrecht University and played in a number of university orchestras, including the National Student Orchestra. After leaving university she moved to London to work as a translator and to study at the Guildhall School of Music. When she returned to Holland and obtained her Conservatory Diploma in The Hague, the Dutch Ministry of Culture awarded her a scholarship to study at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy.

Back in England, she taught for many years in Chichester, privately and in schools and colleges, including in the Cathedral School and in what is now the University of West Sussex. She formed a piano trio which gave many recitals in the area. She was a founder member of the Southern Chamber Orchestra which attracted players from a wide area. The SCO gave many concerts throughout Sussex, including an annual appearance in the Cathedral as part of Chichester Festivities

When she moved with her family to Oxfordshire, she joined the Orsino Ensemble which specialized in educational concerts. For many years she managed and played viola in the Divertimento string quartet, which gave many concerts and played at numerous events in venues as diverse as Blenheim Palace, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, Claridge’s, Spencer House (London), Hotel George V (Paris), marquees, private houses, Oxford Colleges, gardens, and afloat.

She now teaches privately in the music studio at her home in Culham.
