Singing for Pleasure

Friday mornings, 11am – 12noon (singing)

Our Singing for Pleasure choir is designed for the over 50s, for benefits to health and to have fun.

It is a drop-in choir, led by Sally Mears and accompanied by Oliver Nicholls. The group meets on Fridays during the school year, currently in the Church at Christchurch, Abingdon, Northcourt Road.

The Barns Cafe, next door to our rehearsal room, is available for drinks and food before and/or after our rehearsal.

We enjoy singing numbers from various Musicals and trying out new repertoire (sometimes composed especially for us) as well as old favourites from the Ta-ra-ra boom-de-ay book and people’s suggestions. There are songs for everyone to enjoy, and even a few in French! All singers are over 50 and some are even over 90!

The group is much in demand to perform at local venues (performances are optional).
