We were delighted to restart our classes from 14th September 2020 and are continuing them for the Summer term which starts on 19th April 2021. All activities take place either online or within the government guidelines regarding the Covid-19 situation as well as the requirements of our various venues.
Our office is open (phone or email only) 9am-1pm every weekday. Please see below for updated information regarding our individual classes:
Mini Music Makers (for babies and pre-schoolers)
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- Sessions take place every weekday morning for various age groups, see current schedule.
- Bespoke instrument bags, with all the kit for both child and their grown-up to participate, are available for everyone who signs up for classes (for a refundable deposit).
Music Makers Together
- These monthly free sessions at Bridge House Care Home are currently on pause.
Mini Music Makers (Reception/Year 1)
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.

Guitar Club
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- We are hoping to resume sessions face-to-face before too long in 2021.
Recorders and Musicianship
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- We are hoping to resume sessions face-to-face before too long in 2021.
Holiday Music Workshops
- Our popular holiday music workshops for primary-school aged children are on pause at the moment.
- We will update on the May session nearer the time (as guidelines allow).
ACCord (Abingdon Community Choir)
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- We have ideas for incorporating some face-to-face learning (possibly for small sub-groups) when guidelines and venues allow.
- Repertoire for Autumn term included: Close to You (Carpenters), True Colours
- Repertoire for Spring term includes: From a Distance, One, Glory Glory, Treat People with Kindness
Ladies’ Choirs
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- Both choirs are temporarily combined into a 2-3pm timeslot.
- We have ideas for incorporating some face-to-face learning (possibly for small sub-groups) when guidelines and venues allow.
- Repertoire for Autumn term included: I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free, Wayfarin’ Stranger
- Repertoire for Spring term includes: Honeysuckle Rose, Love Walked In, Rock My Soul
Singing for Pleasure
- We began meeting outdoors in September with social distancing at St Ethelwold House Gardens on Fridays 11.30-12.30, government guidelines and weather permitting. There are chairs available and a toilet for emergency use. With effect from November, these sessions are currently not taking place due to tightened Covid-19 restrictions.
- All sessions will be £5 (to avoid needing to handle change).
- Singing will need to be at a low volume.
- All members attending will need to bring and use their individual words (to be given out the first week).
- All members attending will be asked to use hand sanitiser on arriving and leaving the session. All members will be required to maintain social distancing (2 metres) throughout the session.
- All members are asked to not attend if they have any Covid-19 symptoms or are generally feeling unwell.

Abingdon Community Orchestra
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- We have ideas for incorporating some face-to-face learning (possibly for small sub-groups, e.g. strings) alongside online when guidelines and venues allow.
- Repertoire for Autumn term included Handel’s Fireworks Suite, Capriol Suite
- Repertoire for Spring term includes: Le Basque, Toy Symphony
Adult Guitar Classes
- All sessions are currently taking place online using Zoom.
- We are hoping to resume sessions face-to-face before too long in 2021.
Adult Ukulele Classes
