Outreach & Partnerships

We are extremely proud of our outreach work which enables the Abingdon Music Centre team to make music with members of the local community who may otherwise miss out.

We are very grateful for all the support that we receive from Oxfordshire Adult Learning (based at Abingdon and Witney College) and the Oxfordshire Learning Network that helps to fund these musical opportunities.

We have been delighted to work with the following partners this year:

We have also previously run Arts Award projects for local teenagers funded by Youth Music.

Other partnerships:

Larkmead School

We are very pleased to be based in the Music Building at Larkmead School. As well as sharing resources we support music making at Larkmead in a number of ways, e.g. supporting lunchtime extracurricular activities, Music Summer School for new Year 7s, offering a staff choir and running occasional courses for specific groups of students.

ADSMA: Abingdon and District Schools Music Association

We are delighted to be working with ADSMA in running an annual Christmas Carol Festival, Recorder Extravaganza and Spring Concert for local primary schools.

Oxfordshire Music Service

In ‘normal’ times (i.e. pre-Covid) we host 3 ensembles for Oxfordshire Music Service: Abingdon Junior Orchestra, South Oxfordshire Young Singers and South Oxfordshire Youth Performing Arts.

Creative Dementia Arts Network

We have been very pleased to work with the Creative Dementia Arts Network. 3 teachers were involved in the Flourish training programme in 2015-16 and one continues to present his ongoing work at CDAN conferences.
